MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS REVEALED BY FRANCE FOOTBALL

In terms of transfer worth, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been surpassed by the Barcelona duo of Neymar and Lionel Messi, along with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.

Based on criteria such as talent, age, position and international reputation, France Football have compiled their own rankings, advised by specialists in the football market, which has determined the 50 most valuable players in the world.

Neymar is the player with the highest transfer value at a gargantuan 250m euros, according to the French publication.

His Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi, is valued at 190m euros, while Antoine Griezmann rounds off the top three on 135m euros; Cristiano Ronaldo is fourth on the list at 130m euros.

They are followed in the top ten by Paul Pogba (120m euros), Gareth Bale (110m euros), Luis Suarez (95m euros), Sergio Aguero (88m euros), Gonzalo Higuain (85m euros) and Thomas Muller (82m euros).

"The most expensive players on the list are usually the attackers who can create the spectacular and score - a Griezmann or [Karim] Benzema will always be worth more than a [Raphael] Varane or [Hugo] Lloris," said Stephane Courbis, who represents players such as Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny.

The club with the most players on the list is Real Madrid with eight: Ronaldo, Bale, Toni Kroos (62m euros), Morata, Raphael Varane (50m euros), Isco, James Rodriguez (49m euros) and Benzema (45m euros).

The most represented league, however, is the Premier League with 18 players; La Liga is second with 16.

Among them are six Spaniards: Alvaro Morata and Sergio Busquets are both estimated to be worth 60 million euros, David de Gea - the most expensive goalkeeper on the list - is 58m euros, Koke is 56m euros, Diego Costa is 50m euros, and Isco is 49m euros.

Far behind are Serie A and the Bundesliga with six players each, and Ligue 1 has four players on the list.

In terms of nationality, the most valuable nation is France with eight players: Griezmann, Pogba, Anthony Martial (53m euros), N'Golo Kante (50m euros), Varane, Aymeric Laporte (48m euros), Benzema, and Alexandre Lacazette (44m euros).
