FIFA THE BEST AWARD: AN EVENT WITH STYLE

The FIFA #TheBest award was one to remember as dignitaries and Legends from all over the World were in attendance. Legends like Ronaldo De Lima, Carles Puyol, Marco Van Buysten, Marcel Desailly, Diego Armando Maradona, Eric Abidal, Clarence Seedorf and the likes all made the green carpets of the event sparkle.

This year's event was quite different as Legends played a mini-match against themselves in the early hours of the day before the start of the occasion. The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino was also a part of the 'old school days' football game which also saw Alex Scott and Carli Llyod kick a ball alongside football greats.

However, notable absentees were recorded as Barcelona Front trio: Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar; Pique, Andres Iniesta and Coach Luis Enrique didn't show up for the event. With the permission of the club as a result of their Copa Del Rey second leg unfinished tie between Athletic Club de Bilbao, a game they lost the first leg 2 - 1 they couldn't make it. Nevertheless, delegates from Barcelona were in attendance.

It mattered less as the event which was hosted by Hollywood screen diva Eva Longoria and co-host Sheryl was full of excitement from music performances from the Natural 7 and Julian Perotta. It got down to the moment every one was waiting for as the awards were been given out to the respective winners.

Moments of thrill filled the audience when Subri tried to get his phone to read his comments from during his speech after he was announced the Puskas award winner. The first awards for the night was the FIFA FifPro gala XI which comprises of (5) Real Madrid, (4) Barcelona, and (1) Juventus and Bayer Munich players each. The team which was dominated by players from the Spanish La Liga had no representative from the Premier League.

The FIFA Fair Play Award was presented to Club Atlético Nacional Oficial, for their remarkable display of humility following the tragic events of December to Brazilian Club El Chapecoense.

FIFA Futsal World Cup Legend Alessandro Rosa Vieira a.k.a Falcao was presented with Outstanding Career Award.
