SEVILLA ENDS REAL MADRID's UNBEATEN RUN

Real Madrid has seen their unbeaten run cut short by Jorge Samapoli's Sevilla side after they lost 2-1 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday evening. Madrid took the early lead in the 67th minute through a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty after Sergio Rico brought down Dani Carvajal in the 18-yard box.

Nothing came off the game as both sides struggled to make something out of the tie before Ramos's own goal in the 85th minute from a cross into his own net brought Sevilla back into the game.
Sevilla added more pressure on Madrid and it was worth the stress as new signing Stevan Jovetic scuffled down a Vitolo pass off his shoulders before hitting the ball into the back of the net past the on-rushing Keylor Navas who was out of his goal line.

Jovetic's goal in the 92nd minute was enough to see Sevilla claim all 3 points to keep tab with Madrid for the title challenge in the league maintaining their 2nd spot and 1 point ahead of Barcelona who occupies the 3rd position.

Real Madrid's defeat to Sevilla is the first time they've lost to a Spanish team away from home under Zinedine Zidane. This defeat means they could no longer catch up with teams like Juventus (43) and AC Milan (42) who has the longest streak of unbeaten run in Europe.

Better luck next time Madrid.
