The CAF 39th Ordinary General Assembly held today at Addis Abba and the dignitaries from different African region, the FIFA President Gianni Infantino and other world beaters of football were present.
The CAF President Issa Hayatou gave a welcome speech to usher the programme open.

Hayatou: "African football is developing at great rates, and we strive for more on all levels".
"Results of the African youth confirms the dominance and superiority of the continent which must be continued".
"We must increase the number of African teams in FIFA tournaments. Our results confirm that we deserve it".
"We have supported club competitions which reached great heights, and we organize the CHAN to support the local scene".
"The future of African football must be decided by Africans". "We have had no explanation on why FIFA reduced their offices in Africa, The funds allocated to dev't projects are the same for all the member associations of FIFA, regardless of the continent although we have 54 member associations, there are now only 2 FIFA offices" .
Also part of the General Assembly, awards of merit were issued out to different committee members and football chair person. They include:
Mostafa Bedir of Morocco has been the first the be honored with the gold Order of Merit
Joseph Gabio is the second winner of the Gold order of Merit
Mark Gleeson of South Africa is the 3rd winner of the CAF Order of Merit
Also are:
Abel Mabenge
Hassan Hamdy of Al Ahly and
Mr. Abennet Gebre Meskel, President of St. George club.
After which, the discussions for the General Assembly commenced and the President of CAF Issa Hayatou gave the procedural remark.
"Today we have good reasons to imagine that, in a World Cup format enlarged to 48, ten representatives for Africa would be a commensurate expectation considering the level of development
of our football, and what our continent represent within FIFA. With your support, you members, we are sure of attaining this goal".

"To us this means having an AFCON that is played every two years, at a climatically convenient time, in a format that makes in a format that makes it possible for many countries to vy for its organization.
I urge African leaders to never sway from the path traced by the
pioneers of the panAfrican movement,whose memory I pay hommage to CAF VP and President of the Finance committee Patel now presents the financial report".
As part of the Congress, a unanimous approval was reached to approve Zanzibar as the 55th member association of CAF. It got to the point for election where the new CAF President will be announced.
The election procedures started and after which the results reads that Ahmed Ahmed of Madagascar is the new CAF president beating Issa Hayatou by 14 votes.

Ahmed Ahmed: 34 votes
Issa Hayatou: 20 votes
However, elections are still on for the CAF Executive committee and the African representatives for the FIFA council.
