The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) witnessed a feisty Match day 18 across two centers. The Akwa United Vs Kano Pillars game at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano and the Katsina United Vs Enyimba game at the Muhammodu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
It was a matter of home teams exhibiting violence against the away teams.
How it happened at the Muhammodu Dikko Stadium.
The game between Eyimba and Katsina United ended 2-1 in favour of the home side. Enyimba took the lead in the 20th minute from a Chinedu Ohanachom's header but the resilient Katsina United team pressed hard until they got the equalizer at the stroke of half-time by an Obinna Eleje's strike.
Parity was restored and the game went into half-time with both teams looking to make something of the game. It got until the late hours of normal time, in the 84th minute before Chinedu Udechukwu scored off a Destiny's assist.
The Katsina United side were bent on defending their lead for the rest of the remaining game time. According to reports from an insider from the matchday delegation, as a bid to waste time and defend their lead, the Katsina United ball boy seized the ball and refused to release it to the Enyimba team when the ball went for a goal-kick.
The Enyimba goalkeeper, Dauda pushed the ball boy and he fell to the ground releasing the ball which Dauda recovered and game continued. Nothing came off the remaining minutes as the ref blew the whistle for full time.
However, the Katsina United club handle tweeted immediately afteer the game that their ball boy was punched by Enyimba's goal keeper and he was been rushed to the hospital in an intensive care.

In all that has happened across the two match centers, the LMC have not reacted to this incident. Irrespective of their silence, it is clearly stated in their League rules on their websites the punishment for those who cause violence.
