Traditional Rulers Day in Port Harcourt Rivers Golden Jubilee Celebration.
The Government and people of Rivers State are celebrating their 50th anniversary marking the existence of Rivers State from the year 1967-2017. In course of this celebration different events and ceremonies have taken place ranging from the Bicycle Marathon, Inter-LGA Preliminary Wrestling Competition, Bikers parade to the ongoing Inter-LGA Football Tournament.
As part of the Jubilee celebration, the events also features a 'Traditional Rulers Day' which sees Traditional Rulers from the different geo-zones of Rivers State come today to meet , celebrate and discuss a way forward of the State. The occasion also features the unveiling of the New Traditional Rulers' building complex which flagged off by the Sultan of Sokoto.
Not only did the occasion comprise of only Rivers State Rulers, invited Traditional Rulers like Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyey Ogunwusi II and the Sultan of Sokoto, Amirul Mumineen Sultan Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar III is present in Port Harcourt and was first received by the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke at the Rivers State Government House earlier yesterday.
The arrival of the Ooni of Ife to the Port Harcourt Government House and given a warm welcome.

The Jubilee celebration started on the 25th January and will continues till the 28th May with Beauty Pageant, Boat Regetta, Youth Day, Wrestling Competition finale, Inter-LGA Football Tournament finale, Thanksgiving Service and other activities to follow.
