What is wrong at Barcelona???
Before the start of the season, Ernesto Valverde took over the mantle from where Luis Enrique left-off. They got back La Masia graduate Gerard Deulofeu from Everton for €12M. Started the pre-season well by winning the International Champions Cup in the United States, seeing off Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Things were looking 'OK' until the chase for PSG's Marco Veratti started. With three bids rejected, it turns out the 'eagle became the prey'. The Arab money bags came calling for Neymar. We all know how it ended, Neymar bought out his contract and left.
They’ve sold Neymar and had their Twitter account hacked, but the most embarrassing thing Barca has done this
summer is buy Paulinho instead of Seri: who fits the club profile. With Bartomeu, Barca have
magnified their incompetence in the transfer market with unhinged scumbaggery
and laziness. That includes bids rejected and deals turned down.
They decided to buy Seri after
seeing their fans tweet about him. They thereafter pulled out of the deal after
watching him play once, against a top 5 midfield during their #UCL qualifying
group stage game against Napoli.
The question is: ‘What exactly are Barcelona’s scouts being paid to do’??? Eat takis and watch ‘That’s so Raven returns’? Whatever it is, it isn’t scout. Barcelona always forces the player to do most of the work… and then maybe they’ll meet the club halfway for negotiation as in the case of Neymar and others. This has been their regular transfer mantra until things turned sour with this board.

Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele
put in transfer requests, stopped training, and became rejects and outcasts in
their respective clubs so Barca could sign them. But what do they get?
Its almost the close of the
transfer window, August 23, 2017 precisely and Arda Turan, Thomas Vermaelen, and Douglas
Santos are still Barca players. What then for Seri, Dembele and Coutinho?
They are yet to become an FC Barcelona player.
Nelson Semedo was signed all
thanks to his agent Jorge Mendes who masterminded a big money move he deserved,
so he can start in Russia 2018 World Cup. Funny enough, the only player Barca has met the
asking price is: 29-year old Tottenham reject, who left for China on
thoughts his career days were over.
It seems, since they don’t want
to meet the asking price for Ousmane Dembele and Coutinho, rumours has it that 29-year old Angel Di
Maria who cannot stay fit for the rest of the season and is on a rapid decline
is the next target. Why?? The board.
It also looks like they’ll haunt Dani
Parejo with Seri out of the radar maybe because Barcelona’s previous Valencia
signings were huge successes. Exclusively, Andre Gomes, who is still finding
his feet and trying to gain confidence on his inclusion in the Barcelona setup. Never underestimate the ignorance
and depravity of this board. Just when you think they can’t disappoint you any
more, they do. Moreso even with pride and tenacity.
Not only does the Real Madrid
have the greatest squad of all time, it is correspondingly correct to say that
Barcelona also have the worst board of all time. However, Barcelona faithful and
fans have taken to social media to start a campaign for the immediate
resignation of current club President, Josep Maria Bartomeu using the hashtag #BartomeuDimiteYa but to no avail.
According to club tradition, It
is stated that the socios will have to accumulate 70% of the vote of no confidence
inorder to remove Bartomeu out of office and call for a re-election. But from the look of things, it seems
Barcelona will have to continue with this board because the votes from socios are
not yet valid.
However, if things turn out right, Barcelona faithfuls have
in mind ex-president Joan Laporta who brought huge successes to the club in Europe and
beyond as possible replacement for this current board. With the votes still hanging in
the balance, it seemingly looks impossible.
Nevertheless, let’s not forget, Lionel Messi
will be a free agent come January 1st and Andres Iniesta has got
double thoughts on renewing with the club. With club legends trying so hard to find their
feet and muster courage to still remain with the club……it is certain: hell will
let loose for Barcelona, who is on the verge of a tremendous and disastrous
decline.
What then for the future?? Why???
The board.
