WHAT IS MY VOCATION?

Most times, people always think they have to become like someone to be successful in life. The question is: Who made that rule?  Whose injunction is it?
According to John L. Mason in one of his books, “You’re born an original, don’t die a copy”. Stop wasting your time and resources trying to be someone else. Your version of yourself is the true inheritance and unique quality you can never trade – ‘Williams Prince Chibuike.

However, striving to be like someone is competitively healthy but: ‘Who then becomes you?’
According to the Holy scriptures in Ephesians 4:7 (KJV) “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ”. Each person has his own grace, gift, vocation (calling), talent etc; that one thing that makes you stand – out.

What do you do with what you have? That is/will make the difference. A thousand miles begin with a step. For every step you take, someone else has taken, another will and so continues the circle.
It is best to walk worthy of your vocation. Shun the side distraction of the successes of people around you and make the best out of your own version. Most persons are so rapt with becoming like their peers that they end-up forgetting what to make of themselves. What do you have to offer? Will you throw-away your line of gift, talent and choose to tread the path of someone else?
What actually have you done that is worthy of imitation? What have you done to make better use of your time? What gifts, talents or strengths do I have?
These are questions we need to ask ourselves.

…”before you were formed, I knew thee” Jer. 1:5 (KJV)

There’s a popular saying: ‘It is not how far but how well’. Endeavor to locate your talent in time so you can make better use of it while you can. Occasionally, you may see someone who doesn’t do anything yet seem to be successful in life. Don’t be deceived! Remember the old saying: ‘Even a broken clock is right twice a day’.

You mustn’t be your neighbors’ photocopy. The path at which he treaded might not be palatable for your sojourn.  Take note: that it worked for him does not mean it will work for you. Grace, the auction, differs. Every man to his own portion and spirituality.

Take for instance: If everybody decides to become a banker, who then venture into other profession. Recreate yourself and discover your success line. Growth comes from building on talents, gifts and strengths. One of the most neglected areas in many lives is the area of gifts that God has placed within them. It is amazing how some people can devote their entire life to a field of endeavor or profession that has nothing to do with their inborn talents.

vocation

                Must I always be you?
You mustn’t be like that man to succeed. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not. “You can’t know what you can do until you try” – John L. Mason.

Does everybody have the same calling?
If you choose not to step out and make maximum use of the gifts and talents in your life, you will spend your days snooping on your neighbor’s path; you will end up helping others reach their goals.
Your talent is your power, your unique identifier. Fulfill your own dreams and determine your own life’s course.

Walk worthy of your own vocation (calling)
While you keep wasting your time trying to discover how/what made that person; use it to manufacture yourself. By looking sideways means you can’t see what’s in front of you. You can’t picture what’s ahead of you; you can’t utilize your potentials by constant lack of focus.
And by utilizing your potentials is by walking worthy of your own vocation. Maintain the path at which you are a guru; harness your talent in line with what you can do best.

Make the best out of your gift, believe in yourself and watch someone else try to copy YOU.
See you at the TOP!
