MONACO UNVEILS THIERRY HENRY AS NEW MANAGER

French side Monaco today unveiled ex-player Thierry Henry as new manager. Henry made 105 appearance for Monaco scoring 20 goals during his 5years (1994-1999) spell in France before making his move to Juventus in 1999.

The defending champions are currently sitting in the relegation zone and are experiencing a serious deep in form, loosing three of their last three games to Saint Ettienne, Borussia Dortmund (UCL) and Stade Rennes.

Thierry Henry on what success would look like at AS Monaco: “For me, a coach is supposed to make people better. “First, the player. Second, the player. Third, the player. That’s the most important thing, enjoy the game. Improving players for me is a success."

"No problem to come back to France." I am no longer a player and I am now a coach of ASM; It's a club that has a place in my very special heart-I'm back where it all started."

"My philosophy? It all depends on the situation in the game and the team we're playing."

"Monaco presented itself as an obvious and as a choice of heart."

"First Sporting objective: Strasbourg. Regaining a certain joy and security."

"Thank you for the work of Jardim that will remain forever in the history of ASM; Results for me are the result of work".

"There is a big job to do but no stress, the long term for my coaching career is far away-for now I'm focused here."

"As long as there are points to take, anything is possible. There are still a lot of points to win."

"Pep is the reference, for me, I'm not saying for everyone. I re-learned how to play the game when I went to Barcelona under him. He could talk about the game and he would not even go to sleep, you could fall asleep and he would still be talking." - Henry

Henry's debut game will be away against league strugglers Strasbourg and Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
