When it comes to keeping the iPhone safe and secure, we are happy to say that Apple has already done a lot of the heavy lifting. The iOS has been built to not only work right out of the box but also keep the average user safe and secure against a myriad of attacks.
However, there is nothing average about the way hackers and other third-party personnel are going about getting your data. This makes it important that you lend a helping hand to the almost perfect iOS to get things done.

Here are a handful of ways to do
so.
1. Set Secure Passwords
It is easy to get carried away by the amazing work that Apple has done on both Face ID and Touch ID. They have taken the time to perfect these biometrics so much that they work like charms. So much is their functionality that we forget how important our passwords are too. Strong and secure ones, surprisingly, do better than biometrics.
Thus, it is not uncommon to see many users set extremely weak pass-codes since they have biometrics set up.
Note that if the device were to be taken from them at any time, this means a hacker could just get into the information on the phone by guessing the weak password.
2. Install Updates
Be it for apps or the system, updates are not just there to do housekeeping all the time.
Developers are always on the lookout for bugs and vulnerabilities, and will not hesitate to quash such when found. This shows you that the update is more for your good than it is ever for the benefit of the app developers. After all, if anything were to happen, they have no liability since they have sent out a fix to get rid of the issue in the first place.
3. Back-Up
Apple has already provided a highly secure platform in the iCloud for its users to store their files and documents for easy access and retrieval in case of damage, loss or theft of their devices. This will also be a great way to keep your data protected in extreme cases where you are forced to do a complete reset rather than having the information fall into the wrong hands.
At least, you are now sure that you can always get all the important stuff back on any other iPhone you get in the future.
4. Secure connections
Little thought is given to how internet connections can create a backdoor into the unit.
This is why we will always recommend connecting to the internet from highly secure networks rather than unencrypted ones. Speaking of unencrypted networks, public and/ or free Wi-Fi networks have to be on top of that list for us.
If you must use coffee shop Wi-Fi – or any other from a public place – the least you can do is to ensure you have encrypted it for yourself. One of the ways to do this on your device is by getting an iOS VPN which obfuscates your data so much, it becomes almost untraceable on the network.
5. Beware of Attachments and Links
Phishing attacks are the leading cause of all social-based attacks. The fact that they have been around for a long time should have meant that they would be curved, but the reverse seems to be the case.
It has also been established that the issue here is down to human error, and that is something you should eliminate here.
When you get emails from unknown sources, especially with unsolicited attachments, refrain from clicking on it. Likewise, type out links in your browser instead of following them from the mail, especially if they require that you enter sensitive information.
Furthermore, it never hurts to install reputable antivirus software on your device. These will usually detect and flag viruses and malicious links ever before you click on them at all.
