Reasons Why You Should Stop Eating Shawarma

Shawarma is a type of roughage that many persons consume as brunch or late night meal, the snack which is made with hot dog, sausages, cabbage, mayonnaise and flour bread is however considered dangerous to our health.

The constant intake of shawarma can be detriment to our healthy living because of the presence of sausages in it. Sausages are classified as Group 1 carcinogens alongside other foods like Hot Dogs and Corned Beef, especially raw foods, meats that are processed.

Carcinogens are generally the cause of Cancer; they fall under same category with Tobacco as a cancer developing agents. This also means that shisha, tobacco and processed meats or foods causes cancer.

But, this does not mean, the intake of shawarma is as dangerous as tobacco? NO; it only means that the scientific evidence that states that it is a cancer causing agent is proven and very reliable. 

Incase you’re wondering, is it bad to eat red meat? Well, the answer is: Yes, regularly intake of red meat, the ones from cows, we call the beef and other diary animals are dangerous to our health, scientifically, it is placed under Group 2A causes of cancer.

Does this mean I should stop eating red meat? If you can cut down on the rate of intake or stop entirely, it can be considered safe because these meats contain and generate chemicals like N-nitroso during processing.

Does this mean that suya meat is bad? Suya is not safe either, as the burning can form poly aromatic hydrocarbons which is very harmful to our lungs, normally, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxides are very dangerous chemicals.

This was a proven fact after 22 experts from 10 countries during a research, dedicated their time to work on more than 800 studies on cancer to come up with these findings. Hence, it is advisable to eat healthy and live healthy and if you must eat shawarma, do so without the sausage or request for another category; lastly, always heat up your processed food before consuming.
