Senator Dino Melaye, the member of the 8th National Assembly representing the Kogi West constituency has been in the news recently for wrong reasons. Some may call it a blackmail, others believe their is an iota of truth in the recent certificate saga.

It is a trend in the country these past weeks that the Sahara Reporters have been busy doing a background check up of the country's leaders and trying to dig out their past to checkmate their academic and intelligent prowess.
It happens that the Senator Dino is the latest culprit in the recent mayhem in the country. However, the Sen. Melaye is not letting go of his prestige and ego as he has come out in full preparations to make sure he defends his integrity to the Nigerian citizens.

Currently, he is at loggerheads with the media person of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore. A case that has escalated to the point it is now a matter of blackmail and counter blackmail that needs court settlement. According to Sowore, the Senator was giving false reports about his education, a reason he publicly indicted and questioned his position in the country and brought it forth to the media after recent findings showed that he was actually carrying about a fake certificate.

According to the Senator, firstly, he graduated from the Harvard University School of Economics; later he attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in the early 2000s and went for his National Youth Service Corps in 1999. This singular act alone caused uproar and drew attention of the public on social media to the extent it was a trending topic for some weeks running.

The VC was quoted as saying the Senator graduated with Third class honours but the Sahara reporter said they couldn't find his name in the list of graduating students even with the name provided as Daniel Jonah Melaye.

The Senator is not finding this saga funny and has vowed to send the reporter Sowore to jail by all means with effect of filing a 5 Billion Naira lawsuit against him and the Sahara Reporter who started the whole saga but the case has been put on hold till Friday.

It seems the Sahara reporters and Sowore are really prepared to face the challenge following his response on his official twitter handle. "Seems the Senator Dino is taking us to court in the UK, we are prepared" , Sowore.

However, some other person who claims he attended the same school and was in the same set with the Senator posted the photo of his certificate to join in the support.

The Senator Dino is making sure he does everything possible to vindicate himself from the saga, to the extent he has even released his school project topic, mini-projects, funny prayer points, videos, songs and pictures to boost his ego.

The Senator is defending himself and at the same time taking a dig at his rivals. He even wore a graduation gown to the plenary session today at the Senate.
