It is no longer news that the cost of MTN recharge card has increased across the length and breathe of the country. Small scale retailers and wholesalers have added a service charge of N10, N20, N50 and N100 respectively to the normal amount at which the various classification of cards are been sold and when you ask them, they come up with the excuse of "that's how we bought it".
The increment follows thus:
MTN 100 - N110
MTN 200 - N210
MTN 400 - N420
MTN 500 - N550
MTN 750 - N800
MTN 1500 - N1600
Customers are beginning to complain and frown at the situation leading to the switch of service provider to other available and affordable networks.
However, to save their reputation and integrity, MTN Nigeria has come out to refute the claims it increased the cost of sales of recharge cards to wholesalers across the country. The telecommunication company's through its acting Sales and Distribution Executive Adekunle Adebiyi has therefore released an official statement which reads:
"Dear Valued Customers,
Please not that our airtime cost the same everywhere, Pay only the face value of the airtime on the recharge cards".
