EFCC RAIDS THE SUN NEWSPAPER

According to reports, The Sun Newspaper published a report that exposed the fraudulent acquisition of a mansion in Abuja by Magu's Wife, following the revelation of this hidden fact, armed to teeth operatives of the EFCC stormed the head office of the news media in Lagos and SHUT IT DOWN indefinitely.

Magu had written a letter to the management of The Sun Newspaper, demanding for a retraction over the story published about his wife's Abuja mansion, a request the news outfit rejected, telling him (Magu) that they have their facts in respect of the publication. The Sun's response however didn't go down well with Magu hence today's invasion of The Sun Headquarters.

However, the EFCC said their is an interim forfeiture order since 2007 that the property be confiscated to Abia State Government, it also added that its visit is official and part of the routine efforts to ascertain the state of the assets of the publishing company which is subject of subsisting interim forfeiture order. It also stated that prior to the visit, the Commission had written to the management of the company to account for its management of the assets for the period of the subsisting court order.

Nevertheless, the case comes up next week Monday for hearing.
The Commission still awaits the response of the Sun and will not be distracted by any attempt to whip up sentiments by alluding to an appeal which has been pending for ten years.
The EFCC also cleared the claim of molesting staffs of the Sun stating that no staff of the Sun Newspaper was molested, harassed in any way whatsoever or subjected to crude intimidation.
