WINNERS OF GLOBE SOCCER AWARDS 2017

The 8th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards took place at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort by 9:30pm UST and was hosted by prestigious duo Nathalie Mamo and Alessandro Cattelan. The event kicked-off in style with legends of the game making red carpet appearances.

 To add spice to the gala was sensational and delectable Lebanese Myriam Fares performing live on stage in between the awards show.

The event also witnessed a round-table plenary session with the FIFA President Gianni Infantino and other football legends in attendance. Earlier on, honorary award was given to Atletico Madrid Argentine manager Diego Pablo Simeone for his heroics with the Spanish club.

Other legendary awards saw the likes of FC Barcelona's Spanish defender Carles Puyol honoured with the Globe Soccer 'Player Career award' which was presented by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Marcelo Lippi also bagged the 'Coach Career award' presented to him by AS Roma legend Francesco Totti.

Francesco Totti was not left out as he was awarded the 'Player Career award' for his heroics with former club AS Roma.The awards category proper started with Ferran Soriano awarded the 'Sports Business' award which was presented by Miami President Riccardo Silva.

2. Kooraa Best Arab National Team of the Year: Saudi Arabia

3. Best League of the Year: La Liga Santander (Spain)

4. Football Executive of the Year: Vadim Vasilyev of AS Monaco (France/Ligue 1)

5. Best Agent of the Year: Jorge Mendes (Portugal)

6. Kooraa Best Arab National Team Coach: Hector Cuper

7. Audi Best Club of the Year: Real Madrid (Spain/La Liga)

8. Best Player of the Year: Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Real Madrid)

9. Best Coach of the Year: Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid/France)
